Path Valley
The Mertz juggernaut continues…..
With fantastic track conditions, a low line, a high line and slick through the middle, setting the stage for the Sidewinder Sprint feature to produce a passing /slide job spectacular, unfortunately Tim Mertz forgot to read the script. Tim blasted into the lead on a lap 7 restart, passing the Yamaha powered Henchcraft of Rick Hench and setting a pace that the rest of the field was unable to match.
Ryan Greth, by virtue of his previous Path Valley points race win started in 12th position and was also able to blast his Yamaha powered Hyper into 2nd position to maintain his Hyper Cup Championship points lead by the slimmest of margins (5 points).
Stan Fleming is taking a liking to his Saner Motorsports’ Yamaha powered Hyper chassis Sidewinder Sprint with a fine 3rd place run in only his 2nd start.
In victory lane Tim said “ A special thanks must go to Path Valley for providing a great racing surface tonight.” On being asked about his recent speed Tim had this to say, “ We have really found something with our RTS Chassis. I have to give a lot of thanks to our team made up of, Dad, Ron and Joe. None of this would be possible without the support of Mertz's Moving, Allison Door Sales, Guhl Motors and RTS chassis.”
Later in the pits Tim also shared that his team are planning a new car that is set to debut in a couple of weeks that includes a few changes that the team believe would make them even faster.
Apart from Hyper Racing ( www.Hyperracing.com ), our thanks must go out to the other companies that have supplied products for the award winning raffle car;
