Our season so far…Snow…Racing…Rain… Racing…. Heat….Tornado ???????
On what started out as a stifling 98 degree, high humidity, dripping sweat just standing still type of day, no one ever thought that we would end up rained out with no power and almost blown away.
The second Sidewinder Sprints heat was on the track when the tornado like weather swept through the area bringing relief from the heat but to everyone’s dismay a lightning strike nearby caused the track to lose power forcing the cancellation.
Unfortunately the cancellation didn’t come early enough for Mark Strickler. Strickler, making his return after demolishing his car back on 4/19 in a starting line incident, was involved in another start line incident violently flipping his car down the front straight and potentially putting an end to his season. Mark has had awful luck this season in his The Workshop ( www.workshopwelovesnow.com ) sponsored Yamaha powered Stallard chassis.
Hopefully the guys at Stallard can help Mark get his car back on track ASAP as Mark was one of only two Stallard chassis’s to win with the Sidewinder Sprints last year (The other being Jeremy “Jay Dog” Lynch) and as the only Stallard to win at Path Valley last year, he obviously represents the brand at the highest level and is an asset to the Stallard team.
Rich Halter made his Sidewinder debut in his Yamaha powered Stallard.

It’s only another 4 weeks until the Sidewinder Sprints join the $10K to win Super 600 Showdown (www.super600showdown.com) race at Lanco on July 5th. The Sidewinders will compete in their own 20 lap winged feature event before taking the wings off to compete in the 20 lap Sidewinder / 600cc wingless challenge race.
